Luton Liberal Democrats congratulate Luton Town Football Club on becoming champions of League One. Following their promotion, Luton Town will play in The Championship next season.

“The Hatters” celebrated their victory on Sunday 8th May 2005 with a parade through the town followed by a civic reception hosted by the Mayor at the Town Hall.

Speaking before the parade the Mayor of Luton, Cllr Doris Hinkley, said: “I know a great many people are rejoicing at the news of Luton Town Football Club’s tremendous sporting achievement. This is an important event for Luton. I’m really looking forward to welcoming our local heroes to the Town Hall and personally congratulating each of them on their dedication and hard work.”
