With the volume of traffic increasing on Luton’s roads all the time, the Liberal Democrats believe it is ridiculous that bus lanes are left empty even when no buses are scheduled! We have been urging the council to relax bus lane hours in the evenings and scrap completely some unused bus lanes.

We are pleased to report that the Council has now accepted this argument and bus lanes will be opened up outside peak hours in the New Year.

We also think it would help if the bus companies used some of their profits to run more buses!
